John woke to incessant knocking on his door. Grumbling, he pulled himself out of bed and shuffled through the apartment to answer his shaking door.

“I need your help,” an irate brunette said, pushing her way through the doorway.

“Excuse me?” he asked, reaching for a cigarette from the pack sitting on the long table in the main room.

“You are John Constantine, correct?” She asked.

“Who’s asking?” He smirked.

Turning fiery brown eyes on him, she answered. “Someone who heard from a birdie that the Spear of Destiny is about to reemerge.”

John choked on the smoke in his lungs, mind whirling, before he could speak though, she cut him off.

“I need you to research everything you know about the Spear and then call me.” She said, handing him a small card. Before she let go of it, she raised her eyes to meet his, “This is the time to pull any favors owed to you. We need to know everything we possibly can.”

She turned to stride out of the room, but paused at the door. “Whatever that spear is going to be used for, it’s not going to be good, John.”
