We never voted for Challenge 13 winners, so I will probably work on a poll for them next. I also want to at least get a list of winners on the website if I can eventually. I also want to change the layout for the prompt website (and the profile page) since it's using a really old graphic of mine for the challenge (or in the case of the profile page, Photobucket death).

I myself, am STILL adding my fics to AO3 (even after all this time), so not all my works are there, but I think so far I'm the only one using that Collection, but please add your works to the collection/tag!

There is also Crossover Galore Challenge collection over at the SquidgeWorld Archive in case anyone posts there (I have yet to do so) probably eventually.

Galorechallenge is coming back!

I don't know when exactly, but I am bringing galorechallenge back very soon. Probably by late September/early October. This time exclusively on dreamwidth so feel free to join and look around at past rounds to check out.

Right now I'm trying to update all the new fandoms since the last time the challenge was issued and figure what stories are still left for voting and stuff since the community kinda unexpectedly ended.

EDIT 9/4/25: Prompts will be located HERE now.... but please be aware trying to currently transfer/re-create the site from freesite since I lost access to it.

Please comment if you have ANY questions.

Is there a minimum/maximum word count?
Minimum is 100 words. No maximum.

Is there a time limit?
Sadly yes... but hopefully that'll make you want to write faster! Or your muse will kick in. Check out the Challenge's start post for the timeline. It's usually about 4 months.

How many prompts can I write for per challenge?
As MANY as you want! There is no limit. You could make 200 if you wanted too. I'd actually be really impressed if you wrote that many...

Can I use fic I've already written to fill the challenges?
No, this challenge is to help to WRITE more fanfiction. If you happen to never have published it before, than that's fine as long as it fits with the prompts.

What/who can I claim?
That's the beauty of this challenge! You don't have to claim any prompts, you just join the community and pick a prompt (or however many you want) that jumps at you and you write for it, and then you post it here at the community for others to read & love! And once the round is over we'll vote on our favorites!

If I pick a prompt with a pairing/character, does everything have to focus on that pairing/character?
No, but that's kind of the general idea behind prompts. So the character, or both the characters in the "pairing", should at least appear, even if they're not the focus of the story or an actual pairing. The "/" doesn't actually have to represent an actual pairing between the characters - just the main-ish characters of the story. Why don't I use the "&" symbol? Laziness, and honestly so it would condense the prompts a bit into a single line.

What if I want to do a particular version of a character?
Namely girl!character or boy!character or various other characteristics/personalities of a character - that is perfectly fine and acceptable. You are the writer - write what you want to inspired by our prompts!

Can I include another fandom besides the two in the prompt? Does it have to be one of the fandoms accepted here?
You can include another fandom, and it doesn't matter if it is accepted here or not. The main fandoms focused should however be the ones that are.

What if there are no prompts for the pairing or character or crossover I want to do but both fandoms are allowed here?
All you have to do is comment here or to the particular challenge or prompt request post with prompts for the character/pairing/crossover you want and I'll post them to the prompt website ASAP. Easy peasy! Feel free to upload your story to the community immediately even if I haven't commented back saying I added them yet.

Also please suggest more prompts even if you don't plan to get to them - others might be interested!

When my fic is written, how should I share it?

Post it here -- even though if it's 100 words, please put it behind a cut,
post it to your journal or fic journal/community and link to it here,
post all the stories in your journal/wherever and when they're all done, post a list of links here...
post it AO3 or another archive or another website and link to it here,

No.

Can I combine these prompts with another challenge?
Of course! As long as wherever the other challenge allows it, I don't see any problems with that. Sometimes you just need more prompt inspiration than what we've got and that's OK.

Notes: Written for galorechallenge prompt Mystique/Harry – family and for crossovers100 prompt broken. Also my third fic in the xoverland Big Bang challenge. This storyline was suggested by dreamwind83 at xm_hp, however I tweaked some of the details & its grown into a non-stopping series. I'm a little iffy on this part of the series, but hopefully its not too bad.
